Use them to share progress, ask questions, or make announcements. Teammates can reply with threaded <strong>Comments</strong>.</p></li><li><p>Other ways to communicate: <strong>Notes</strong> for long-form collaborative writing, <strong>Chat</strong> for direct messaging, and <strong>Calls</strong> for real-time audio/video discussions.</p></li><li><p><strong>Spaces</strong> are like categories for your posts. Create spaces for projects, teams, or topics.</p></li><li><p><strong>Feed</strong> is a roll-up of posts in <em>all </em>public spaces. Use this to discover or catch up on discussions happening around the company.</p></li><li><p><strong>Inbox</strong> contains notifications on activities like mentions and replies. Use it to stay caught up on discussions you’re participating in.</p></li></ul><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Posts</h2><p>Posts are the backbone of communication on Campsite. We believe posts are a more thoughtful way to communicate and help teams <a class="prose-link" target="_blank" href="https://app.campsite.co/campsite/p/notes/teams-should-work-with-the-garage-door-up-k45d8rtdqnlw"><span>work with the garage door up</span></a>. For most types of work, they are the<a class="prose-link" target="_blank" href="https://app.campsite.co/campsite/p/notes/posts-are-the-sweet-spot-between-chat-and-docs-41qc96btts19"><span> sweet spot between chat and docs</span></a>.</p><p>You can create your first post by clicking the “New post” button in the app sidebar or using the global keyboard shortcut <code>C</code>.</p><post-attachment id="p3xdzuaa6mz4" file_type="image/png" width="1720" height="825"></post-attachment><h3>Comments</h3><p>Campsite comments are rich and expressive: </p><ul><li><p>You can reply to comments with a single level of nesting.</p></li><li><p>Comments can be resolved if they’ve been addressed.</p></li><li><p>Add rich text or upload any type of file to a comment.</p></li><li><p>Leave inline comments on images or timestamp comments on videos when viewing an attachment in the full-screen lightbox:</p></li></ul><post-attachment id="tf0pr2xua4vu" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Notes</h2><p>Notes are for long-form writing or collaborative multiplayer text editing. By default, all notes start as private documents. You can add individual collaborators to a note or share it with your entire organization.</p><post-attachment id="g284336fursd" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Share notes to a space</h3><p>When you’re ready to share a note with the rest of your team, click “Share to Space…” from the note’s share menu to start composing a post. Sharing a note to a space will automatically give the rest of your organization view + comment access.</p><post-attachment id="tupuekp6kc0i" file_type="image/png" width="1383" height="1022"></post-attachment><h3>Publish notes to the web</h3><p>Notes can be shared to the web — this document you’re reading is a published note! A published note creates a unique URL that can be shared with anyone.</p><post-attachment id="cev5yb3a6irh" file_type="image/png" width="1263" height="931"></post-attachment><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Calls</h2><p>Use calls for daily standups, pairing, 1:1s, or ad-hoc meetings. Calls can be started from a chat by clicking the video camera icon in the titlebar.</p><post-attachment id="pu4203e79ozv" file_type="image/png" width="766" height="543"></post-attachment><post-attachment id="p7wn72lio1uc" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Record your calls</h3><p>To record a call, click the record button in the bottom-left corner of the call window. The record button will pulse red when a call is being recorded.</p><p>After a recorded call has ended, it will be automatically transcribed, titled, and summarized — find a complete list of your past calls from the Calls page in the app sidebar. By default, calls are only visible to the participants.</p><post-attachment id="texg8jlmtgv8" file_type="image/png" width="2325" height="901"></post-attachment><h3>Share a call as a post</h3><p>It’s easy to share a call with the rest of your team. This is useful for keeping people updated on decisions being made in calls or for sharing meeting notes with anyone who may have been absent.</p><p>Navigate to a call recording and click “Start a post” to compose a new post. By default, the post will include the title, summary, and recording — you can edit any of these details before publishing.</p><post-attachment id="tciztedpvvfm" file_type="image/png" width="2459" height="2344"></post-attachment><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Chat</h2><h3>Direct messages</h3><p>Use DMs for fast, lightweight communication with your team. Chat is great for quick questions, real-time work, or sensitive conversations.</p><post-attachment id="89bod9hoserr" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Group chat</h3><p>Start a group chat with multiple people. Group chats can add a custom name and image, making them helpful for specific teams, projects, and topics. Use the ••• menu to edit the group, adjust your notification preferences, or leave the conversation.</p><post-attachment id="tmzs2cjx3pai" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Favorite important chat threads</h3><p>Add important conversations to your favorites. These chats will be quickly accessible from the “Favorites” section in your app sidebar.</p><post-attachment id="cptd11ql9t8t" file_type="image/png" width="1969" height="914"></post-attachment><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Spaces</h2><p>Spaces keep your team’s posts organized. Use them to group conversations by project, team, or topic. Spaces can even be marked private, so only specific people can view posts. From the Spaces page, you can see all of the spaces you’ve joined.</p><ul><li><p>Joined spaces show up in the Spaces section of the app sidebar.</p></li><li><p>Favorited spaces show up in the Favorites section.</p></li><li><p>Subscribing to a space with the notification bell icon will notify you whenever someone publishes a new post in that space.</p></li></ul><post-attachment id="z5ubaeiq0xg7" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Default spaces</h3><p>Admins can create “Default spaces,” which all future team members will join automatically when they sign up for Campsite. These spaces are useful for ensuring new team members are added to important all-company communication spaces.</p><post-attachment id="r4b133fwy0rm" file_type="image/png" width="1744" height="1300"></post-attachment><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Inbox</h2><p>The inbox keeps you updated on important activities like mentions, replies, or new posts in spaces where you’ve subscribed. Some people enjoy using the inbox as a “todo” for their team communication and strive to hit inbox zero daily.</p><post-attachment id="baxr7x2ce7al" file_type="image/png" width="3984" height="2686"></post-attachment><h3>Triage shortcuts</h3><p>Press <code>Up</code>/<code>Down</code> or <code>J</code>/<code>K</code> in the inbox to navigate between your notifications. Press <code>U</code> to toggle a notification as read or unread, and press <code>Delete</code> to delete it.</p><p></p><div data-hr-wrapper><hr></div><h2>Feed</h2><p>The feed shows posts from <em>all</em> spaces (excluding private spaces where you haven’t been added). Search automatically looks for content across all your posts, notes, calls, and team members.</p></li><li><p>Press <code>Up</code>/<code>Down</code> or <code>J</code>/<code>K</code> in the inbox to navigate between your notifications.
